Project highlights include the removal of the existing 33 year old pavement and pavement base, widening of taxilanes to meet current FAA requirements, a minor realignment of Airport Road near hangar rows 7 and 8, and drainage improvements with new drains and pipe being installed in several locations. Reconstruction of the seaplane ramp is also planned including the installation of new reinforced concrete planks . A preconstruction meeting is planned for Monday, April 7th at 10:00 AM at the self service FBO, hangar 2-7, at New Richmond Regional Airport. Hangar owners, pilots, and airport business representatives are invited to attend.
Additional information on the project will be posted here in the coming weeks.

All hangar owners will be receiving a lease amendment that will extend the current leases another twenty years making the new lease end date June 30, 2050. New visitor website
The City of New Richmond launched a new visitor website in late February. https://visitnewrichmondwi.org/ . The site is amazing and highlights events, dining options, and places worth checking out in New Richmond. East Metro Jet Center has three crew cars available along with rental cars for transient pilots to use to get to the many events listed on the site.
Temporary Crane NOTAM
Heads up regarding a temporary crane that is being used during the construction of the new library in downtown New Richmond, or 2 miles south of the center of the airport. The crane will be extended up to 180 feet above ground level from sunrise to sunset until late April. The crane is marked with an orange and white flag.
Potential Frequency Issue - On Hold
Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), operator of MSP and several reliever airports in the Twin Cities, announced their intention to change the common traffic advisory frequency (CTAF) at Airlake Airport in Lakeville, Minnesota to 122.975 this February. This happens to be the same frequency New Richmond has used since October of 2000. A local pilot/hangar owner tipped us off to the upcoming change (thank you Scott L). Thankfully, we were able to alert MAC that we believe there would be significant conflicts if the frequency change were to proceed. MAC announced on January 8th they would pause the frequency change while further study is conducted.
